We recognize that horse owners have a variety of needs when considering a facility for their horses. All horses at Wyvern Farm enjoy constant vigilance by knowledgeable barn staff and owners, and a maintenance program which addresses the requirements for supporting our equine clients in safety and comfort. Stalls are cleaned seven days a week, and are picked out in the evening. The basic board rate includes five turnout days per week. |
Monthly boarding plans range from "a la carte" where the horse owner can choose among a variety of ancillary services, to "the works" which includes most ancillary services at an all-inclusive rate. Designed for the busy professional, it is our goal to provide peace of mind to owners whose schedules may preclude frequent visits to their horses. |
service options to meet a variety of needs |
Horses are fed three times daily with a combination of top grade Oregon Meadow Grass hay and/or Elk Grove Milling Stable Mix pellets. Owner-supplied supplements, if required, are fed after a hay meal to avoid overly quick consumption with its potential for digestive issues. Medication and special diets can be arranged. |

A variety of supportive services help make your experience at wyvern farm fun and hassle-free |
Wyvern Farm is committed to helping our boarders show their horses although there is no requirement that you do so. Showing is hard work and we want to make it just a little bit easier. To that end, we want to offer as much assistance as you need (and we can reasonably provide) to make your show experience rewarding and less stressful. Transport: If you want to bring your horse to a show, and need transport, Wyvern Farm can help. If you want to attend one of the scheduled shows above, that's great -- we would love to have you join us. Trailering offered at competitive rates. If you plan to enter another show, just let us know sufficiently in advance and tell us what you need to make it a successful experience. Hay and Shavings: For all horse shows, Wyvern Farm will provide hay for the show at no extra cost. Baled shavings can be delivered at cost. Just tell Chuck and he will help you load what you need. Grooming: A groom can make all the difference between a pleasurable or frustrating show experience. With enough advance notice, WF may be able to arrange groom support if you need it or want it for your show. Julio charges $50 per horse per day or part thereof, but this must be arranged through Liz in advance so we can rearrange his work schedule. |
grain and supplies delivery service |
Chuck and Livingston make regular trips to Higby's Country Feed in Dixon to collect pallets of stall pellets, stable mix, grain and miscellaneous farm supplies. Recently, Chuck has been bringing back extra bags of grain for WF. We store them in the Trainer / Grain Room in the Lower Barn. Before you make a special trip for grain, you might want to check out what is available in the Grain Room. A price list of standard grain supplies is posted in the breezeway of the Lower Barn. You will find that WF prices will meet or beat the local market and there is no mark-up for transportation since Chuck and Livingston have to make the trip anyway. If you don't see what you want in the Grain Room, just tell Chuck or Liz -- we can have it here by the following Saturday in most cases. |
COFFEE BANNER On weekends, I usually make fresh coffee which is available in the Board Room. Sometimes, the coffee is available on Saturday and sometimes on Sunday (I have not been too consistent). So, in order to let everyone know when there is fresh coffee (and maybe other goodies), I have a new, coffee-colored COFFEE FLAG. In future, I will fly the flag when there is fresh coffee. Please check it out and help yourself. |
